2021 Cancellation

2021 General Butler Bash -- Cancelled

Hello Everyone,

We hope this email finds everyone healthy and safe.  The past several months have certainly been weird.  And now it looks like a second wave is causing more issues.  As such, the state of Kentucky has placed limits to the size of gatherings.  We do not anticipate those limits being raised before the end of January to be able to support the size of our event.

Unfortunately, we have decided it would be in everyone’s best interest to cancel the General Butler Bash for 2021.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  For those who are pre-registered for this year’s weekend, we will automatically roll your registration over to next year unless you request a refund.  Please make the refund request directly to Beth (kysquaredancers@gmail.com).

It is best for you to call and confirm that your hotel reservation is cancelled whether it be at the lodge or in town.  We suggest you do that soon as not to incur any possible late cancelation fees depending on the policy of where you were staying. General Butler State Park (502-732-4384, Quality Inn (502-785-7425) and Holiday Inn Express (502-732-6770)

Additionally, if you are rolling over, there will be no price increase to you even though we are increasing the price to $50 per person in 2022.

We will be back next year so save the dates – January 28 & 29, 2022 – NEW AWESOME LOCATION!  We are moving south to Somerset, Kentucky beginning in 2022 to the Center for Rural Development convention center.  It is an awesome facility with three hall capabilities for full time Plus, SSD, and Advanced Squares with Rounds.  There is an onsite Courtyard by Marriott hotel.  No more driving to the hall unless you decide to stay in one of the many nice hotels along the main drag.  More to come very soon about hotels, our special group rates, and how to make your hotel reservations.  FLYERS WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON.

On behalf of the entire staff, thank you so much for your past and future support!  No one is sadder about the decision than us, but we felt it was the right one.

We all hope to see you in a square soon!
